Classes & Workshops

I love sewing so much that I think everybody should give it a go.  It’s both wonderfully creative and practical at the same time.  Like engineering but with easier to handle materials!

Starting again in Jan 2017: The Bye Studio (Boxmoor, Hemel Hempstead) will be open every Tuesday 7.30pm – 10pm for classes and workshops.  Other days or times may occasionally be available, depending on my work schedule at the time.  Please ask if you would like to see me at any other time.

In a relaxed and creative setting you can learn to sew, build on your existing knowledge or just come along for a bit of company and space to spread out.  With a maximum of 4 people at any one time, you can be sure of lots of attention.  It also means that booking is essential.

Starting again in 17th January 2017:  Every Tuesday (except the 2nd Tuesday of each month – see workshops below) The Bye Studio will be open for anyone who would like to learn how to sew, either as a complete beginner or to learn some new or different techniques.

The classes are flexible, there is no set start date, so simply pick a date that suits you and let me know what you would like to learn.

I have a few ‘ready made’ lessons, including learning to sew with confidence; how to sew in a zip; sewing different pockets; however, if you let me know what you would like then I can tailor a lesson or series of lessons to suit you, or you can work on a project of your choice.

Price: £20 per 2 1/2 hour lesson (£18 concessions) or book up 5 sessions for £80 (£72 concessions).

If you have a sewing machine, please bring this along with you.  It is always useful to get to know your own machine and practice sewing on that.

Starting again on 10th January 2017:  Every 2nd Tuesday of the month The Bye Studio will be open for anyone who would like to get together and sew with me.  Just bring along yourself, your project & any ‘personal’ sewing equipment you will need (scissors, thimble).  I’ll provide the company, tea, some help if needed (& possibly some home made biscuits)

Price: Just £3!
