"There is scarcely anything in the world that some man cannot make a little worse,
and sell a little more cheaply.
The person who buys on price alone is this man's lawful prey"
John Ruskin (1819 - 1900)

Please do not be put off by these prices; if you are on a budget it is always best to keep it simple.  It may be helpful to appreciate that the work involved in your outfit will always be more expensive than the fabric itself.   Anything intricate, involving lots of hand stitching, embroidery or beading will cost more, and lace can be extremely expensive.
